Anatomy of a Great Signature
A good signature answers three questions in under four lines: who are you, where do you work, and what should I do next.

Do
- Keep it to 3–4 lines. Every line should earn its spot.
- Lead with your name, then role and company on one line.
- Use one clear call-to-action, not three.
- Match the tone of your emails — formal signatures on casual notes feel off.
- Include a working unsubscribe link for any bulk or automated send.
Don't
- No walls of legal disclaimers on ordinary outreach.
- Skip images and banners — they trip spam filters and break on mobile.
- Don't stack five social icons; pick the one platform you actually use.
- Avoid rainbow fonts, italics for everything, or comic sans. Really.
- Never hide the sender name behind a cutesy signoff-only sig.
Frequently Asked Questions
How Long Should an Email Signature Be?
Three to four lines. Anything longer competes with the message itself and gets truncated on mobile.
Should I Use an Image or Logo?
For cold outreach, no. Images increase spam scores and often show as attachments or broken placeholders. Save logos for transactional or warm-thread emails.
Do I Need an Unsubscribe Link?
For any bulk or automated send, yes — it's required under CAN-SPAM and GDPR, and MyProspectPro adds one automatically to every campaign email.
What Signature Works Best for Cold Email?
A minimalist or CTA-driven block. Cold email lives or dies on the first two lines; a lean signature keeps focus on the message and your one ask.
Send Outreach That Actually Gets Opened
MyProspectPro tracks opens, clicks, and replies so you can see which signatures and messages land — and which don't.
